“Great gear, great mics, great engineer!”
Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez, Paolo Nutini, Badly Drawn Boy, Feeder)

So far in 2015...

It's looking like being quite an eventful year for both Rooksmere Studios and Rooksmere Records.
On the Studio front the 'Corinna Jane' Album is nearing completion and we'll soon be mixing, followed by mastering with Ray Staff at Air Mastering, London.
I am also producing an EP for up and coming local band 'The Barratts' and the most excellent, Latin music infuenced outfit 'Citadel'.
We have local folk group 'Ock n Dough' recording at the start of April and even some rap music!  I love the diverse range of music passing through the door.

As for the Label:

  • We've just released the new Dan Walsh album 'Incidents & Accidents' to much critical acclaim (reviews to follow)
  • The third single 'Fifty Shades of Blues', taken from Blair Dunlop's album 'House of jacks' is to be released on 13th April
  • The 2nd Album from Singer / Songwriter Fabian Holland 'A Day Like Tommorow' is to be relased on 27th April.

BBC Radio Love

Both National and regional BBC Radio stations have been supporting my artist Fabian holland over the weekend with tunes played on Radio 2, BBC Radio Shropshire, Essex, Cambridge, Norfolk and Suffolk. The Album 'A Day Like Tomorrow' is released on Monday 27th April and the single is available now at iTunes, Amazon and all good stores.  Here's the video for Spring.

Del Palmer chooses 'Rooksmere Mastering'

I'm very pleased to recently have been asked by Del Palmer (longtime engineer for Kate Bush) to mastering his third solo album 'Point of Safe Return'. Released on Credible records and available now!

Del also took time to write to show his gratitude:
"Thanks again for your work on this..As always highly professional and friendly!!.."

Studio upgrade in progress!

Having served me well for the last 10 years it's time to retire the Audient console in favour of a more modular setup of extremley high end recordng equipment by the likes of Cranesong, Dangerous Music, Neve. I've also opted for 16 channels of Audient Pre's so the signature 'Rooksmere' sound is still there but with a clarity far superior to anything that has gone before putting results at Rooksmere equal to those of many a word-class facility!

The website will also be recieving an overhaul to mark this upgrade and we expect the new site to go live by Mid October.
